    Re: Which regulator?

That's what I thought initially, but I had a look at the manual and it said ''stretched acrylic'' so its probably gone through some process where it gets toughened or something of that sort...

      Re: Which regulator?

What do material do you find suitable for the flipper arm construction? In mind I have either steel hollow section 1x1 welded in an L shape or HPDE bolted/bonded in an L shape, I'm thinking HDPE will be lighter and more compact but less strong than steel - what do you think?

        Re: Which regulator?

Anyone knows where I can get a paintball bottle similar to this one:

        http://www.paintnomore.de/co2--hp/co2-f ... lasche.php

Has to have the same dimensions especially the height of the cylinder, else it will be difficult to fit it inside, the dimensions of this one is 26x8cm, I've contacted them to see if they deliver over here but got no reply, guess I have to write aus deutsch!

Been searching the web for something similar but almost no one gives you any measurements

            Re: Which regulator?

looks like there are different sizes archie, most common seems to be 310mm incl valve, I need the one like in my previous post or similar, or else back to the drawing board

If you can find the shorter one, give me a sign, I'm searching for that type for a while now.

                Re: Which regulator?

                Well actually I've found a shorter one, 260mm x 80mm from here:

                http://www.paintnomore.de/co2--hp/co2-f ... lasche.php

and he delivers to the UK so for you its no problem maddox, you can just order it straight away, my problem is Malta is not listed for delivery and when I contacted them I got no reply...will try again and this time will write in german (hope google translate is good at its job!) and see what happens...

Sorry thought you were in the UK, still you got no problem there as they post to Belgium - good for you!

                      Re: Which regulator?

Ok so paintball tank issue seems to be solved - sent an email in german and got a reply telling me they offer shipping to Malta

Next thing I want to get the solenoid valve. Some mentioned that either a 5/2 way or 3/2 way valves can be used - which is best suited for an LP flipper setup?

My original plan was to use a 5/2 way valve like this:
                      http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251073532207? ... 824wt_1399

Below is the planned layout - I don't intend to use a pressurized retract, I'd rather use a spring or damper.

                      retracted position

                      extend position

                        Re: Which regulator?

If you don't want a power retract then go for a 3/2 valve

                          Re: Which regulator?

if your after a valve that can handle 145psi/10bar then you don't want that 1 ,most 1s from hong kong can only handle about 8 bar (8kgf/cm2)

                            Re: Which regulator?

Max, the thing is I don't understand how will the actuator exhaust the air on the return stroke...

                              Re: Which regulator?

the bungee pulling the piston down will cause the gas to flow back through the valve and out through the exhaust.

                                Re: Which regulator?

hey pete, yes I've noticed its rated at 8 bar working pressure, but I was thinking that it doesn't cost too much so might as well experiment with it and find its limit, valves usually have a higher max press, probably around 12bar, I could overvolt the solenoid, its for a short period of time so it should not quit me - I hope!

If you have any other ideas as to what I could use I'm open for ant advice
