  • Feather spinner event

    Hello,

Maybe not the best place to ask the following question.

My name is Guilherme Ferreira, I'm from Portugal and I have two feather's with active weapon, and I wonder if anyone in the UK know of a national competition that accepts robots with active weapons.

Follow the link to our community if anyone interested.

    thank you

    Re: Feather spinner event

    Hello Guilherme,

The only full combat events in the UK for FWs are hosted by http://www.robochallenge.co.uk/Event...ring/home.html.

The UK Championship is due to be held in April but aside from that little details are known unfortunately.

Also found this on your site, looks nasty!

          Hi Guilherme,
1 event extra to Maddox' post:

          31st March - 1st April: in Bochum, Germany (http://public.roboteers.org/mmm/)
          6th Mai: Antwerpen, Belgium (http://www.dutchrobotgames.nl/)
          29th - 30th September: in Bochum, Germany (http://public.roboteers.org/mmm/)

In Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands, Feathers, Raptors (6 kg) and Ants are populair.
Does Portugal have organised robotic (fighting) events as well?

            Hi,

Thank you all for the information.

PJ-27 and typhoon_driver, thanks for the reminder, I did the test so close because the robot is shown to have very stable in open tests. But as is obvious, that there is a risk that no more will be exposed.

PJ-27, I also have been waiting for more information about the event organized by robochallenge.

maddox10, could you tell me what these three events, the period in which they take place annually. And if possible, how can I monitor these events.

Marien, a first step if it were possible, would like to compete in the UK by logistical issues.
There are no events in Portugal, but we strive to make this a reality. There are only three teams in Portugal, four robots (featherweight).

            Thank you all,

            Guilherme Ferreira

              Re: Feather spinner event

The GRA (German Roboteers Association) Mad Metal Machines events , 2 a year. Ants, raptors (6kg entry class machines) and featherweights.
One in spring, one in autumn.
Current normal location is the rollersporthall of Bochum. A large sportshall, space enough for everybody.
Easygoing, but full combat event with German efficiency.
Public is welcome, but not actively searched for.

The Dutch Robot Games tournaments. We try to have 4 days/weekends for the feathers to compete full combat. The results are then combined to have a DRG champion.

The first of these is this year in Antwerp, were we have a spot at the Sci-Fi/Fantasy/horror convention.
Not sure this could be seen as annualy, but I can hope , can't I?

Hello Guilherme! Your robot looks deadly!

I live in the south of Spain (Andaluca) and I am making a robot. I will be going to the Robo Challenge event in April. I seem to be the only person in Spain who owns and is making a robot... where in Portugal do you live? There are no competitions here at all either.

I speak Spanish, so with your English/Portuguese and my Spanish/English, we should be able to communicate.
