  • weapon motor---need help

    Hi, all

I need some help with a diagram and parts on the best way to wire up a drill motor that turns a metal threaded rod which in turn lifts my weapon arm (lifter) I thought of using a speed controller for this but then I remember someone saying use a relay switch to turn power to the motor on and off?...can any one advise which would be the best method and if the relay method then can provide a link as to where to get them. I have never wired up any replays before so don€™t have a clue€¦€¦

I€™ve found this relay and thought it would be easy to control via the RX, but would this do?

my system will 18v roughly on lipos

    any help would be great

Best version would probably be a speed controller, but that might be more expensive. I think most people use battleswitches to activate bigger relays, but i'm not exactly sure how much current a lifter motor would draw. If a bigger relay is needed, I will be using something similar to this for my spinner using the battleswitch-relay-motor setup.

Thanks for the link. Ill have a look at them. Would the rely be able to reverse the current to reverse the current? Would the speed controller perform better / last longer than a relay for the lifter weapon. Ie. Not burn out.
