    good evening,

I've got a parkBEC for my new bot. i was just wondering if you HAVE to connect it to one of the ESCs or can it be connected straight from the battery to the receiver?

Hook it up to a power source and put a multimeter across the red and black (or red and brown) servo connection. Then you will be able to tell me

You can hook it up straight to the battery. It should just work if you plug it in line with the esc but i have found on occassions that it does funny things.

So If I got one of these:

and just wired the positive and negative up to the battery then I wouldn't need to connect the servo side up?

Yes you can. Wire + and - into the robots circuit, and plus the servo lead coming from the BEC into any spare rx channel. No need to plug a servo cable in the other end unless you need that channel for something. In Satanix its plugged into the rudder because that doesn't do anything on any bot the TX is used for.
