I heard something about using gyros to keep fast robots going in a strate line? I was wondering how do I get one, and how do I wire one in? As I'm planning to build a new, faster robot. Thanks

      Re: Gyros

Essential in 13Black and an amazing piece of kit, when powered up you could kick the robot and it would fight to stay where it was.
One might help in a feather but it would depend on the drive type etc.

Ok, well I will finish the robot first, and see how strate it goes.... And decide from there....

Properly set up a good gyro will help a 2 wheel robot go in a straight line and correct for unbalance in the motors etc keeping the robot going straight. If your bot has 4 wheels I wouldn't bother. The problem with a gyro is that if you can't drive the robot to start with then there's no point in getting one. If the robot is too quick then a gyro won't help bring it under control either.

My opinion on them is that if you can't control a robot without a gyro then putting one in will do nothing for you. It should be viewed as a tool that can fine tune the control.

As ever this is all my own opinion, by all means disagree.

              Re: Gyros

i've used a gyro in a 2 wheel drive feather before, yes it does work but from my experience theres not much point in using one

i've got 1 i can sell to you if your interested?

i've just found adjusting your trims on your transmitter is enough

Naa I won't bother, it's 4 wheel drive, so I think it will be ok...

                  Re: Gyros

                  probably a stupid question but..............

just wandering with gyros are you suppose to connect them to froward/reverse or left/right channel between the rx and v tail/ sabertooth dual

                  im guessing the the froward/reverse
