  • Charging rate for a 12v 4AH Lead acid battery?

Can anyone tell me what the charging rate for a 12v 4Ah lead acid gel battery should be?
I`ve got a Pro Peak constellation charger I want to use and it only seems to do 15amp, I`ve only got two batteries left and need them both to run at memorabilia tomorrow and don`t want to wreck one. I could use my original charger but it doesn't beep and look cool
    Thanks

You can only charge sla batteries at 0.25 x their capacity,so 0.25 x 4ah is 1amp max charge.

ok thanks, I`ve been playing with the charger since first posting and have managed to alter the rate, 1 amp sounds safe so I`ll give it a go.
          Cheers

Very cheap moped starter batteries can barely handle 400mAh charge safely?

the charger just kept saying it had finished, I think the battery I was using is dead anyway so I fetched my original charger in to do the two known good ones that are in the robot. After this weekend the robot (Photon) won`t be used again anyway so its not too important. My new NIMH packs charge fine.
