Probably a stupid question, but I promise I will only as it once .

Was looking at brushless motors for a spinning drum and i'm well aware that brushless motors need different ESC's to brushed motors, but was wondering, can they be run off any sort of battleswitch-relay setup or would it have to be a brushless specific ESC?

I believe it has to be a ESC. Depends on what size Brushless, but most brushless ESC's are very cheap, cheaper than buying a battleswitch and relay.

yeh you need an esc for it, what weight class is it for? if featherweight i'f i were you i'd suggest go with the tried and tested speed 900/battleswitch/ss relay

Ahh well, I thought that might be the case. I was/am going to use the Speed 900/BS/SS relay but just though the brushless would be a bit different.

Also the power increase that brushless gave machines like Boner was pretty good to see at the Champs, and also the power BuzzBar had with its small brushless was great, well, just the noise really but it does help you see where the name came from .
