I use E machine shop's free cad - its easy to use, and can give good 3D images.. not sure if you can do assembly drawings in it though.

              Me?
I use a program called Solid Edge. It was what Glasgow Uni used at the time I was there and they could offer licenses for the academic version for £5. However I would say that Solidworks is better and more widely accepted in industry; I think I'm going to try and transfer over to that at some point for all my CAD work.

Depending on how you feel about the moral aspect, you could always ask someone nicely if they could download an...ahem... legal copy of one of those programs and burn it to disc for you to install, but if anyone asks, I didn't tell you that

Thanks Jamie, Yeah I may try to 'legally' download a CAD or try and get Autodesk.
I wanted to know your CAD as I like it how you can store shapes such as blue wheels and drill motors to use in another project

                    Re: CAD

You can do that with Sketchup.

I find Sketchup has everything I need. It isn't advanced but for making a box on wheels it's plenty complicated enough. :P
