neither if you were thinking of using them as your main power unit in a featherweight. The AA and similar design of batteries are not designed for high current applications and the wiring on those is the major giveaway (very small).

The old phrase is very true, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.

matt, go for 2 of these wire them in series

          http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-4V-3300mAh-NiMH ... 564093b27c

that will work well for you. just check with someone on here your electronize can take the voltage coz i dont know that one. you would want to change the tamiya connectors too, use your deans connectors instead.

this is how you wire batteries in series in case you didnt know, double the voltage :-)

would wiring 2 9.6V in series be too much to get away with or would 2 8.4V be better?

too much for what? You need to be more specific with your questions

                      ah, sorry, not awake

to much for my 15a esc to handle but these will also have 25a fuses in to cope with the extra voltage

Re: would these batteries be sutable?

The 15A electronizes can handle 24v so either will be fine

would bigger fuses be needed or not?

It doessn't really matter if they are in the wiring I would keep the in case the motor stalls

i used fuses for a while but then dropped them when one blew in the middle of a fight. Never had a 15A electronize fail on me even after shorting the BEC accidentally. Had two stalled drill motors on two seperate electronizes and they didn't blow.
