    Re: need a speed controller

Me personally, I've seen too many broken sabretooths in the FW's, especially them coming off the heatsink (like calums and Ceri's as I recall), no such issues with the scorpion. There quite a few good machines to use the scorpion, the 3 Big Nipper FW's all use one, 360 uses one, and I believe the Shock team use them.

                Re: need a speed controller

A 4WD drive machine draws more amps than a 2WD.

It all depends if you use a motor per wheel or just 1 motor a side.

Option 1. Each motor a speedo. Electronise or heavy duty RC speedo.
Option 2. Hefty dual channel speed like the Scorpion XXL or the rare expensive Sidewinder can be used for 2 motors per channel (side) Other option is a Victor per side.

Sorry to re open the thread, but has any one used these speed controlers before? I thought I heard someone did (or something similar) but does the low amp reverse afect the driving hugely? And do u think it could cope with two drill motor per ESC? I think forward would, but would reverse? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270826285477?redirect=mobile (sorry if it's the mobile site, I've tryed to chnge it)

Yup I use them in Eric Jr, well, I did up until today when I replaced them with an XL.

Didn't have any issues with different speeds reversing and in forward drive, didn't notice anything at all. I just swapped them out as they're only rated to 12v (although I used them on 14.4 with no issue) and wanted to be able to run something at 19.2v and keep both my feathers using the same battery sets.

Oh ok thanks, I just thought they would be better than the servo, micro switch method, for the old bruiser, it doesn't have to be anything spectacular, and I have a similar one, which I could take to the champs, incase one desides to blow...
