  • Motor and batteries for Axe

    I found a 24V Electric scooter motor on ebay for like £40 but what should I use to power it? and is this motor good?

    Ive got a motor like that, slightly less power though, mines running on Nimh packs with a Victor 883 as a ESC

      i have the 120w 24v motor made by that company (i think. label looks the same) from an old belt driven electric scooter i had when i was younger. the scooter had real pulling power, although only went about 20mph it was still very impressive carrying 10-12ish stone no problem . sorry i cant give you any proper information but hope that gives you some idea how much umpf that one has.

        Hmm, But I cannot find any 24v volt batteries D:, Is there anything else I can use? So that motor will not be running at full power D:

            batteries come in a variety of voltages, Sealed lead acid come in 6v and 12v for the most part. Nicad and Nimh come in 1.2V cells and A123s around the 3.6V mark.

            To up the voltage you put a number of cells or batteries in series. To increase the capacity you put them in parallel.
