For a cheap but effective spinner motor, a pair of Speed 900 motors work well. For an example of what they do, look up some 2009 videos of Drumroll.

Axes are a bit easier to make and can be used at all events around the country. Pneumatic spikes are largely ineffective against modern armour.

I asked about where you live because even with only 2 spinner-capable events per year, you would be well advised to attend an event nearby (or indeed any event) to get some information and examples directly from the sources.

Having looked it up, I would say your 2 nearest events would be Brentwood in Essex and Maidstone in Kent. Maidstone is coming up in November, details can be found on the Roaming Robots website.

I wouldn't mind doing a flipper or even a pneumatic hammer/axe but apparently there hard to make? But I don't know cos' i have zero experience So Pointers please ;D?

sweet. Personally I generally am only at the spinner only events run by robochallenge simply because spinners are the only weapon type that interests me but you will be able to pick up a lot of info etc from any event. See you at a spinner event sometime soon
