  • the twitching and twirling

    hi all

well the new block of wood looks how i wanted but doesn't do as i wanted

it still twirls about and doesn't really go in a straight line im using drill motors on a sabertooth 10a dual controller

i have tried the rebinding but this brings up a new problem of the wheels turning went i don't want them too and so i have ridiculous trim setting (can't say what they are atm as Jonno has me tx). so it seems to work ok at home ie goes in a relativily straight line and failsafes fine. But at and event it will begin turning slowly on the spot without me touching anything. and then when it all starts the battle that is it doesnt go where i want it too

i feel i'm going round in circles (sorry for the pun) and want to make it work properly

    Please Help

I found the sabertooth speedcontrollers to be pretty good actually in that respect. Have you left the speed controller in auto calibrate mode? We found a problem that if you get abit of a voltage drop and the ESC re-boots then it messes itself up by calibrating with the centre stick position wherever you joystick may be at the time.

Other problems could just be that its getting stuck and caught on the arena floor all the time and making it go all over the place.

try running it off the floor with the motors going slowly to see if they are going about the same speed. I also had problems with autocalibrate and the faislafes on the sabetooth 10 a so it might be worth turning those off and seeing if that helps. Apart from that try checking the 5 volt out from the reg in the sabertooth, unlikely but noisy 5 v lines can cause problems, if this seems to be a problem a large cap across the 5 volt line should help.
