The battery on my Dell laptop died recently and had to be replaced. As it was a lithium Ion pack I thought I'd take it apart and have a look.
The cells were configured in a 3s3p configuration. I checked the individual cell voltages and six of them are reading about 4.1v the other three are at about 0.2v hence why it's died.
Now, this appears higher than i would expect from an a123 cell which i understand to have a cell voltage of 3.6v.
I have the stuff to charge these and balance them but i was wondering if these are suitable for use in a featherweight?
