    Re: new robot

so your looking for a wedge shaped flipper. you will need :

    20 drive : i suggest 2 Argos 10 quid cordless drills
15 blue wheels: ask in the wanted section or ask grant ( ask someone for his email )
    40 speed controller : 2 x mtronics eco 27 speed controllers
    35 a radio system: i recommend the planet 5 2.4 ghz system
10 MDF for the base , get it from B&Q , 2-4 foot sheet will do

so total for a moving base is about 130 quid ( no pound sign on my keyboard :P)

      Welcome to the forum.

What is your budget? What do you want to achieve? What are you current machining skills? What skills or equipment do you have access to?

Answering these questions will allow me (and others) to guide you in the right direction more easily.

Have to say having just got two of the planet 5 radio systems I'm really impressed with the construction of it. Considering it's £36.99 including receiver the build quality is as good if not better than the spektrum dx5e even if it doesn't have mixing or digital trims.

Not had time to test it on a motor yet but I think the drive side of the receiver goes to the last known setting rather than neutral or off. The throttle does however fail safe (as I say not actually checked it). That said there's ways round that.

Looks like it's the transmitter/reciever combo for me then.

                          Re: new robot

remember american antweights weigh a lot more than uk ones, so that kit is probably to heavy for our use over here

And the battle kit is for a lightweight so not quite light enough for a feather and nowhere near heavy enough for a heavy......................
