  • Quick Question

Can you ues Featherweight spinners at RoamingRobots Events?

  • #2
    Quick Question

No the RR arena is a grade 3 arena. A grade 2 arena is required for featherweight spinners.

Currently the only arena capable of holding spinners (that has been certified) is the robochallenge arena. The rebel robots arena is awaiting inspection (as far as I know).

If you are building a featherweight spinner be prepared to only take it out once or twice a year.

      Quick Question

Do RR have plans to make a grade 2 arena to keep up with the other 2, Anyone know?

Are Drum weapons classed as spinners? (I would say they are)

        Quick Question

You need to ask Jonno that one.

Spinners are that small a part of the robot population that it doesnt make sense for there to be a large number of spinner capable arenas as they are usually one hit and someone breaks fights....or I throw myself out the arena :P

        Drums are counted as spinners.

          Quick Question

Its a difficult question that I cant really answer.

2009 will see a few changes in the RR camp, the events, and format which im working on over xmas. It all depends what happens with our events.... if they continue to grow then possibly an upgrade could be on the cards, but it depends of a lot of factors.

Weve already added the cages, and the flip out zone, and will be concentrating on making that work early next year.

To make the current big arena to class 2 would take a big investment of both time and money, and would make our current level of events uneconomical.

So for now, no, there are no immediate plans, although I will be interested in the success of the rebel robots arena / events with spinners.

          Regards

          John
