  • Reshaping battery packs

    Hi All

looking to change the shape or arrangement of my nicad battery packs currently in the long stick form

i was thinking of using battery bars maybe the ones below, also will an 80w soldering iron be ok to use as i dont want to heat the cells up and damage them?

    http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/product.asp?productid=5045&catCode=248&tamiya=0http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/prod...e=248&tamiya=0

    thanks alex

    Reshaping battery packs

Thats the sort of thing you need, but battery bars can be got a little bit cheaper than that... http://www.overlander.co.uk/products/default.asp?cid=1&scid=30&pid=1172http://www.overlander.co.uk/products...id=30&pid=1172 for example.
An 80W iron should be fine for what you want to do, just dont leave it on the cells too long.

      Reshaping battery packs

with my current cells im taking an old pack aprt and redesigning the shape the tag seems to be attached to the postitve end (looks like the postive end to an AA battery) and the side of the battery is this how i should reassemble the packs?

      thanks alex
