  • Balsa Mock-ups

    Hello all,

My grandpa and I have decided on a final design, bought two drill motors, aquired 4 wheels, e-mailed a custom timing belt company, ordered some batteries and discussed ESCs. We were thinking about building the whole thing on a balsa plate and then if it works, unscrewing it and using metal (all except the lifting arm which will be made out of metal from the beginning). We were trying to think of a way to fit it on enough to drive the bot about in testing but be able to unscrew it if it works. Has anyone got any methods?

    Thanks,

    Alex

P.S Please dont say blue-tac, masking tape, duct tape - I have tried them all and they dont quite have the right holding strength.

Hose clamps are good for holding drill motors and gearboxes in place.

OK. Cheers. I like the zip ties method. Thanks for that.
