  • Featherweight speed controller

    hi,
ive just about sorted out my feather weight robot which runs off two 24volt 100w motors which i want to use when roaming robots comes to nottingham in october

ive been testing it out on a speed controller which is great for other little robots ive been making but its not good enough for my feather weight can any recommend a good speed controller i could get?

    thnx, calum

Perhaps the Sabertooth Dual 25A Motor Controller might meet your needs rather than Sabertooth Dual 10A Motor Controller that your using.
Depends on the specs of your motors particularly the stall amps.

If my elemetary physics hasnt gone the way of my maths knowledge, then your motors are producing 4.1A of current (nominal/continuous)

Err-ing on the side of caution by saying that the stall current will be four times this amount (16.4A) then a 25A Sabretooth should do the job easily, even taking into account stall currents larger than 16.4A but I dont see that happening with 24V 100W scooter motors

Ironside runs 2 x 150watt 24v gold motors through a Sabreooth 25A and I cannot praise the thing highly enough.

Since fitting it in February all I have done to the machine is charge the batteries. (it will probably go pop now I have said that)
