  • Front ramp material

im unsure of what material to use for the front ramp to my crusher. most of the ramp is 2mm mild steel and i have designed it in a way that the middle section of the ramp is seperate to these side sections

this is the section that wil take the force of the claw crushing down

    any help?

    thanks alex

I think Razer had a hole in the front wedge so that it didnt crush itself?

You seem to want to attach a seperate piece under the Crusher tip...I dont think that will work.

The section from the actuator pivot all the way thru via the Crusher pivot and on to the tip should be made strong enough to take your forces.

A U section channel would have been ideal and the end could have been tapered to give a front ramp.

i will be having the hole in it but this is the section which the claw will go through

i was planning on welding this middle section if possible to the front triangles

IMO its impossible to recommend a plan for your proposed front end without seeing the design and knowing the forces involved.
