Does anyone know about the performace of D sized nicads? Are all forms of cadnica suitable for the high amps of our sport? I have seen D sized 4000mAh batteries and wonder if they would give the same current as the sub C size.

hi guys,
Im looking to re-solder a battery pack into another shape, to fit into my feather, do i need to discharge the pack before re-soldering it, also are there any other things i should look out for when doing this??

Use a nice big iron when doing it. Preferably 80watt or bigger. You dont need to discharge the cells before resoldering but make sure all cells are in the same state of charge. (i.e. charged or discharged)

Philip from what I hear the D cells are not suitable for heavy discharge. Sorry mate

Of course theyd work just as well as the smaller versions. Its even likely that theyll be able to supply even higher current.

If theyre good quality, but that applies to all kinds of batteries (just that high discharge cells are less common in larger sizes).
