Note that Ive never owned an Electronize switcher.
But they should have 3 functions...BOTH RELAYS OFF with the stick/Switch central being the one that appears to be failing.
This is indicative IMO of the Spektrum failsafe being wrongly set...there shouldnt be any signal sent to the switcher by the reciever other than the OFF or neutral signal untill the transmitter binds to it and tells it otherwise.
What happens when you failsafe in Tech check?
One more thing that you could try just to make completely sure that its a duff reciever signal and not some other random event.
Disconnect the Electronize switcher from the reciever...then try powering up.
NOTHING should happen at all with the Switcher disconnected from the reciever.
It must just be ... as you suggested ...the insertion of the link causing the reciever to emit a brief on signal to the switcher.
Hence the need for powering up before turning on the gas.
Have you got a spare FS1 kicking around that you could try as an additional safety feature ...it would be interesting to see if that sorts the problem.
