  • Spectrum help needed

    hi all

i think it will be something sinmple to do, but i have the robot control (drive) on the right stick however the when i want to go forward it turns and when i want to go the side it goes foward
    how do i stop this?

i have a lifter on a different channel which seems to be slower on the way back, ow do i sort this out?

and lastly, im pretty certain it shouldnt be doing this but when i put the robot on the lifter goes without the transmitter being on, any ideas?

    thanks alex

you need to swap your reciver wires round on the reciever, you have them back to front to sort the drive problem.

if you are using an electonise switcher, when you turn it on, it fires the relays for a brief second and then sets back to a neutral position.

or if you mean it stays on, then you have wired it into the wrong side of the relay, you need to go into NO ( normally open ) not NC ( normally closed )

    Hope this helps.

With the lifter moving on start up, it sounds to me like youve bound the receiver whilst the transmitter stick is centre or forward so it failsafes in that position.
If it works fine when you have control of it, that will be your problem.

so do i just re-bind it without touching any of the sticks?

also the power problem with the motor going backwards is this something to do with the 100% thing? i think adrian was on a bout the other day?

          thanks alex

Swapping over the R/C plugs at the reciever may sort out your fwd reverse / steering probs.

Bind with the sticks and switches in their OFF or failsafe position.

well, i have found out that it is nothing to do with the spectrum but the relays in the switcher. the automatically click when the link is put in therefore starting the lifter. the only wasy i can think of stopping this happening is having the lifter mech touching the back limit switch therefore stoping it immediately

                  but is thereany other way?

                  thanks alex

Alex, I have a similar problem with aftershock.

I am using an electronize switch and until it links with the transmitter the valve is switched on. I havent found a solution to this just yet though and it would be interesting to hear what others have to say.

                          alex,

as i mentioned on the phone the other day, im no expert but the relays do click when powered up.

On all my robots when you put the link in the fire solenooids fire. Hence I never put my link in with the gas turned on, or i end up killing myself.

Ive done it once with the old ripper and learnt the hard way.

2 solutions as far as im aware,

                          1) wire it up so it sits on the lower limit switch.
                          2) fit an seperate receiver battery, when this is turned on , it will power the relays, ready for then safely putting the link in

                          John

                          Maybe woody can help?
