  • Electronize switcher contact points

    hi all

in the past when using the above speedo for my lifter the tiny screws haven held the wires well. as this rebuild is to sort things like that out i wondered if there was any alternative?

    thanks alex

solder the wires direct to the circuit board rather than using the screws.

you could leave it there and solder the wire onto the pins on the underside of the board. However it would be better to remove them, desolder them from the board using a desoldering tool or that braided stuff tha absorbs liquid solder.

          alex,

Ed is right, either take it off or leave it on.
Ive always left it on in the past and just soldered underneath, and then youll have to cut some slots in the outer casing to allow the wires to come out the box.

saying that if your wires are coming out, theres most likely a reason, give them some more slack,
I dont normally tin the wires as i find it causes them to come out, and just twist the ends and make sure the wire is all the way in before tightening.
