i have a battery pack that the metal strip which joins 2 very bottom cells together has come away on one cell, can i just solder it on? i cant see any solder their orignally so wondered how it used to be held on. it happened when i cooked a drive motor at an event, i think the battery is fine as it was reading 0 voltage and as soon as i push the strip back against the cell it reads 13volts.

 Nimh 12v battery pack repair

I believe that a form of spot welding is normally used to make the battery packs orignally. But you can also solder them on. I normally rough up the surface to give the solder something to bind to, and then use a powerful gas solding iron. This is because you want the heat to be on the battery as short a time as possible so not to damage the battery.
