    hi all

i currently run 3x 7.2v 2100mah nicad packs in my robot, these run 2x 18v drive motors and a 12v lifter motor (all drill motors. just wondering because i only have the one set it takes a while to charge, but i do have 2x 8.4v 3300mah nimhs from my other bot, just thought if i bought another of the nimhs same spec could i use those to run the above setup when my primary packs are charging?

What i mean is will the voltage be to high, and when in competitions will it be allowed because of these packs being heavier?

    thanks alex

it should be ok with the voltage.

For competitions your robot is weighed with the heaviest setup in place. So it would have to be weighed with your nimh packs in place if they are heavier.

They can usually handle 24v. Does it get especially warm under normal use?
