  • Questions regarding SLAs + box section

    hi all

in block of wood we use a 12v 5ah sla, i charged it last night checked the voltage 13.2, 24 hours later 12.58v, the reason for me charging it was when i was testing BOW it was slow and the reading was 6v
anyway does this mean it cant hold the charge any more? it was first used oct 2005, time for a new one?

    box setion
on psycho fling im using aluminium onto box section, thing is i will need to have access to some compartments and so i thought about screwing it together, i have done a test and it holds but is this the best method?

    thanks alex

If you get 6v from 12v sla battery it is dead. 1,5v/cel is minimum voltage. 6v from 12v mean 1v/cel, you kill it.

bolting sections together will be fine, I would advise a minimum of M5 bolts for a featherweight. If they will be under a lot of stress then look to M6 or even M8

When it comes to replacing the batteries it always depends on how much your budget is.
