We are preparing to build a featherweight flipper and need some motors. Do you know of any (preferably that dont need chains) that would be suitable.

    Hi Allan

One of the easiest and most popular types of motors are cordless drill motors you can get these and the wheels which fit onto them from

We use these in all of our robots and have never had any problems

If your on a tight budget, Argos do 9.6 volt drills for under £7.00, strip the motors out of them, and get some of Gimson robotics wheels, also get a battery and charger.

Do you think that they would be powerfull enough to fight in a combat situation?

          These are ideal for combat.

My robot whirlpool uses 4 of these and has enough power to move around with me standing on top (Im over 60 kgs). So they are definately powerful enough.

Also I use 2 in my 2 wheel drive flipper shockwave which again drives very well.

Ive seen shockwave push 2 feathers in the pit at xfm at once, the power is definatly there.
