      Gyro ???

You will probably also need a gyro switch so then when you are flipped upside down, you can turn it off. If you cant turn it off then the robot will just spin on the spot.

        Gyro ???

Why do you need a heading lock giro in a combat robot? (I can forsee blind panic when you send a turn command and the thing turns... then just sales off in a straight line in the same direction it was going before!!, been there, done that!)
All you need is a plain rate giro with an on/off switch as Ed says.
If you are feeling clever, you could make up a simple switchable signal reverser so your giro will still work correctly when your machine is upside down, (I did one for Pillow Torque using 2 giro on/off switches and 2 signal reversers)

          Gyro ???

          OK,thanks,Woody/Ed..more questions!
          Where do you buy switches?
How do you connect them in circuit?
At the moment I use one joy stick for f/r/l/r,
can I still use this config. or do I have to use both sticks ? Any info. would be appreciated.
          Thanks, Andy.

            Gyro ???

One stick as you describe ...
You connect the gyro into the Steering channel ......L/R.

                Gyro ???

                Thanks Geoff/Woody,
Im going to take my locking gyro back and swop it for a rate gyro.
Can you recomend a good one to ask for?
And can you tell me what to ask for on the kill switch?
I tryed the gyro and your right Geoff..You have to learn to cancel the left or right turn command, because it just keeps going!....Or in my bot it continued to go straight forward or backwards until i sent another signal to stop.guess im connected to the wrong channel.
                Good web site woody!
