  • Upgrading Pneumatics

We are about to upgrade the flipper on Shockwave and have a few questions.

Would there be much difference in flow if we changed the pipe from 6mm to 8mm?

Also we now have a 40mm bore 60mm stroke ram- would this be better than the 2, 20mm bore rams that we use now?

Do you use one valve to allow air to flow to your 2 rams at the moment? If so... then using your single 40mm bore ram with the bigger piping will be soo much better Will. Also depends on the flow rate of your valve, but making those proposed changes will still help your robot.

Also depends on the flow rate of your valve and the supply flow to the valve.

Could you spec the TOTAL system Will.

From what i have seen at Ipswich: A buffer tank, as close to the valve as you can get it, and like Stu says the 40mm ram will help a lot. the difference between 6 mm pipe and 8 mm is there, but not that much in the overal scheme of things.

But every bit helps of course.
