Hey guys not so long ago I just finished building my first proper robot based on Rex€™s robot challenge and I was wondering if any one could help me convert the bike pumps into proper rams. I haven€™t yet battled my friends but what would be a good alternative without having to go and buy full pressure co2

Bike pumps
Adam, without knowing what pneumatics experience you have it is difficult to recommend something. But any components that you use must be suitable for the pressure you are running at. Off the shelf items are usually tested at a lot higher pressure than their recommended running pressure.
The best advice is to design a system, seek advice on parts needed.
A basic system will work something like this for a low pressure system.
Main tank - regulator - buffer - main valve - ram

Bike pumps
Thanks ED I have only covered the basics of pneumatics in collage using compressed air I guess for now the bike pumps will do as its only my first proper robot, before I built this one I just used to put a wooden body shell over my RC car and then wire up a 12v motor with a blunt cutting disc on it.
I got a feeling that I properly design a co2 system for my next robot and then one day I might start attending live events
