2 speed drill motors

I have a 2 speed drill motor that I want to use on my robot, can anybody tell (or show) me how to stop the motor from changing gear

2 speed drill motors

There will be a little gear change lever on the gearbox, operated by a slide switch on the plastic housing surrounding it. Tie down the lever.
