    18 volt dewalt motor/gearbox

    hi,any one know a good way of fixing the motor to the gearbox?? its a new style motor and box,the motor is round,but the box is a funny thing the two dont fix together:yawn:.would be nice if there was a factory cradle like the dustin motor.probably have to make my own.also does anyone know if you can get an extended shaft in the uk? the motors are going to be controlled by a scorpion xl.... i hope?.. new name for this bott... wedgie!! unles its been taken?

    Hiya,

    I woudlnt reccomend the Scoprion XL for Dewalts. I used the Sidewinder on Dewalts and even then both the Dewalts and Sidewinder got warm. Dewalts seem to love their current, so make sure you got decent high discharge batteries as well. I had to get hold of Team Delta Dealt Drive Pod retainers. You have to press the motor against the gearbox, very odd i know but meh, its what everyone in USA and i had to do with the dewalts.

    I beleive the Dewalt mounts work for both the old and new gearboxes, email me if you wanna buy mine off me as i wont be using dewalts anymore. Nothing wrong with them, give good power, just i not building a push bot ne more so dont need the power.

      Hi Stu,thanks for the advice! Can you have a look at my profile to see if your mounts are any good with my gear box.If you think they are let me know how much and if possible post a picture.I have already orderd my scorpion xl from james so i may swop the 4qd vtx 75a in cyberon,as long as the sorpion xl is ok with gold motors?

        I was told that they can work for the new motors and gear boxes, but i would look further into it. Though im not sure if i can sell the mounts and retainers without the motors and gearboxs uneless i can sell these seperate as they are useless without em.

          Thanks for that,shold have asked befor i bought My bits.Looking at the old gear box,and my new style box they look very different,so i dont think the old mount and new gearbox will fit together.Im going to mail teamdelta and ask the question.Shame i didnt see your motors first,they look great and would save me a lot of messing about.
