Does it run well? I'm thinking of a similar drive setup for my first robot
yeah, runs fine! the dx6i mixer needs a little setting up but i can post the link if needed. only small issue is that the argos motors can be a little hit or miss with regards to quality but then again for £10, u cant moan!

I've found that, I've bought 2 and one had plastic gears and one had metal gears. But for £10 not bad.

Didn't even though that about the gears?! Will have to check mine out

Just swap one set of plastic gears with a set of metal gears and you'll have two motors each with a combination of metal and plastic gears, thus balancing them out rather than having one stronger and one weaker drive motor. Standard drills tend to come like this anyway; the metal stage is the one closest to the output shaft, and the plastic stage engages with the motor pinion.
From your existing drills. If you've got one with metal gears and one with plastic gears, that's six individual metal and six individual plastic gears you have. A standard drill gearbox needs six to run so use three plastic and three metal gears in one drill gearbox and use the remaining ones in the other drill gearbox. Voila
