    hi

my new featherweight that i am planning is a scaled down version of daves turbulance and i was just wondering wat some of the other featherweight sizes are to see how much i need to scale it down so it doesnt end up half the size of everything or twice the size of everything:P

Our two feathers are roughly 40x40cm. One is 15cm high, and the other is 9cm. 40cm seems to be the average length I make mine to for some reason (might have something to do with the RRC size limits if I remember rightly)

It was quite interesting to see scaled down feathers such as RIP and TKM2. When I saw them both I thought TKM2 was really small for a feather and RIP was kinda big for a feather. If you build yours somewhere in between those sizes it should be fine

Easiest way to do it is to get all your bits together and lay them out as you would like them in your robot. The size will be fairly obviouse to within a few centimetres!
It also depends whether you want thicker armour. The smaller you make it, the thicker you can have your armour. Thats why mine has a few mm between most of its components lol.

The sizes of FWs are variable to say the least - I would say that Pillow Torques length is comparable with Rips height at the back. There are no size limits in the FRA build rules just as long as it stays within weight (currently 12kg) - of course when you get the essentials in there (batteries, motors etc), the rest is yours to play with. Although clean air may save you some potential damage by putting vitals out of reach, you have to weigh up (scuse the pun) the pros and cons of the type and thickness of armour you can put on there - it may mean that the dimensions may have to change to accommodate it all.
              BTW PT is currently 500 x 330 x 100 mm (50 x 33 x 10 cm)

                        LOL, thats tiny!
as i mentioned, the smaller you make it, the more weight you can spare for thicker armour!

Yeah, but 15mm of what? 15mm of hardox offers a bit  more protection than 15mm of polystyrene although the snowstorm isnt anywhere near as impressive. The snow also provides an effective screen for escape
