  • NiMH charging problem

Has anyone else experienced the problem outlined below, and has anyone got a solution?

I bought four GP3300 packs, discharged them one at the time, then paired them to give 14.4v. I then charged them with my ProPeak Constallation charger at 12cell and 2A. They only take about 320mAh before finishing, I have to do this over and over to get up to 3300mAh capacity. Both pairs have this problem, funny thing is that when I discharge them with the charger they continue without a break until finished at about 3500. Ive also tried charging at different currents up to 4.5A, always the same result.

    NiMH charging problem

I had a similar problem with Alphas 2400 NiCads, hence why sometimes (first round of winter tour and at colchester) the batteries go flat after only taking about 250mAh. At first i thought it was because they were new and was part of the cycling process, but strange how they did it again after nearly 6 months (Although hadnt been used for a while). I found that if you put them on automatic they seem to fully charge, but when on manual they didnt, i wasnt keen on the auto function for them as it was trying to put 5Amps into 2.4Ah cells, but seems to be the only way for them to take charge.
