Quick update after a bit of radio silence...

The robot is together mechanically, the axe is asssembled again and reworked a bit after the bolts incident.

In the lead up to Insomnia 61 the updates are likely to be more sporadic, but there will hopefully be a further one before the event with it still in one piece

Final drive and weapon test today. Now all that's left is a bit of paint and it's ready for Insomnia 61

      Also, will it self right?

Thanks for all the positive feedback!

it weighs in at 13.5kg with the axe head fitted, so we are in the limit - just!

Post-Insomnia 61 obligatory "it got broken" post:

The event was great fun, and I learned a lot being there - including lots of ways I can improve Battleaxe. It's quite a list of things, but the most obvious being, the type of mild steel I used isn't up to being spinner (or more precisely, 722) proof.

I will probably repair this properly and keep Battleaxe 1 running for a while, whilst work gets under way on a new version

Blimey, that looks used. A bit of metalworking to be done there.

What happen to the axehead as I do not see it in any of the bouts. Where you overweight or something ?

No, it's there bar the last whiteboard fight. I did want to go larger, but yes weight stopped that. I'm designing the new one to be bigger and have better impact
