  • S.M.I.D.S.Y - Rebuild and help wanted

    Hi Everyone,

The ACE team have just purchased S.M.I.D.S.Y from Gary Cairns. We need some young volunteers who want to get involved with robotics and want the opportunity to be part of a robot team.

There is no rush to get S.M.I.D.S.Y battle ready we want to take the opportunity to get others envolved and have some fun.

Please PM us if your interested

    Dave Smith

Christ it's been years since I saw this! What was my 15 year old self thinking with that polycarb cutting?!

Glad to see it back though, hope you get it working in a better state than I did 4 or so years ago

I wouldn't advise relying on that polycarb top panel to keep the axes out; it may not end well!

This was the last time I used a polycarb top plate:

Even Splinter with a mild axe went through 10mm Polycarb. Took a little while.
