One thing I was worried about was drying it... Any tips?

Sealed the leak. Also discovered that all 3 of my valves had crud in them so had a little clean out and now it's working well. I think that could have been the problem all along...
Had a test with half full buffer tanks and a traffic cone.

Flips well but makes some funny noises- in the video you can hear that after the inlet valves fire something continues to hiss. I wonder if this could be the ram leaking?
As you can also see there is quite a bit of resistance in the "to atmosphere" valve. Is this just because I am not running it al full pressure? Or is something else going on that can be fixed?

No, the 4/1 isn't always the optimum. It depends on the ram and the flow.
A long stroke ram will use a lower leverage. A short stroke ram more, if it has the force to do it.
For Gravity3 I went for a 4/1 ratio to keep the force on the tip around 1 ton. Just felt right, and it was then. This means the flipper was powered up to 720mm .
In Bullfrog, I still aim for the 1000kg on the tip, but the ram is so different that the leverage is closer to 7-1, with a powered stroke on the flipper around 400mm.

Almost finished! Got the drive and flipper going. Still need to fix down things like the buffers and stuff- and then I'll try to get some videos. http://i.imgur.com/ZLVTrjW.jpg
Cheers for everybody (and Mario's) help. I'm sure this wont be the end of my questions
