      Re: Bruiser II

What speed controller are you using ? I get the feeling the motors will draw some considerable power.

I'm useing two syrens, the single channel version of the sabertooths. And we were running it on a flat car battery, so it's quiet a few volts lower that what were tubing it on, as we are going to use 2 7.2 volt rc battery's in series, so it will be at 14.4 volts, so hopefully it will run better.

Are they the 25A versions ?

Yeh, think they should be enough, with the high current cut out and all.

              Re: Bruiser II

@ 19.8 V we had the problem Kashei's scorpion XXL started cutting out on the Speed 900 MSR 12-54 combination with 100mm wheels. We solved it with a Sidewinder.

As the copies have a higher current draw, it could be that 25A ain't enough.

On the other hand, if the wheels ain't too grippy, it should limit the power used.

Yeh that's what I was thinking, although I can't afford another controller, so i don't know what I would do if that was a problem.

Those side pods look very well made!

look forward to seeing you guys at the GSL again, we've got to represent Suffolk!

                    Re: Bruiser II

Simplest solution if the speedo's cut out on overcurrent, less V.

Something I think will be needed whatsoever.

                    Those cheapo's run a lot faster than a Graupner Speed 900. I messured them 11000 rpm @12V

                    11000/12=900 rpm/v
                    900*14.4V=12960 rpm

Gearratio 5-1. 2592 rpm on the wheels.

                    0,125m*pi*2592= 1017m/min=61km/h

How much!? The stats on the seller's page say 6700 rpm no load at 12v!

Well that changes my predicted measurements slightly....

Those look like copies in all respects, only a tad larger in diameter.

That will pull back the speed to a more managable 35 km/h.

                        Still bloody fast tough.

I thought you were talking about the copies?

Ing to get no where that speed, theres so much friction in the chain, it struggles to do 10. Hope fully the power would be enough at that voltage. If not, I have no idea how im going to get it to work.

It seems more types of motor with Speed 900 size are available.

I have a cheap set that runs 11 krpm @12V, where the original Graupners run around 6650 rpm with the same powersource. (Old Hawker SBS)

Yeh, we're really unsure on there reliability, so we have 1 spare, and If we need we can take the motor out of the spinner.
