      Re: Bitza Mk2

I think he was meaning How much did they used to cost?!

Yup, I seem to remember they were around the £15-£20 mark. But this was before the days of GiantCod and dirt-cheap RC equipment, when a receiver could easily set you back £30 or more!

        Re: Bitza Mk2

No my how much was at the £8!

I believe that will make it the single most expensive component to be put in Bitza2.....

          Re: Bitza Mk2

          I stand corrected then
Had a look through eBay and there doesn't seem to be any cheaper versions kicking about. Think you might have to drain your bank account for this one

Looks like I'm asking the bank for an overdraft extension..........

            Thanks for the help.

              Re: Bitza Mk2

Started thinking about wiring up Bitza Mk 2, specifically the Relay for the weapon.

Since it can share a common ground is there any reason why I simply can't connect the 2 negative terminals to each other, and then run only wire to my power terminal?

                Re: Bitza Mk2

Got a problem with one of the drive motors, the motor stalls under little load and won't drive the robot. We've stripped and regressed the gearboxes and stopped the master gear that swaps the ratios from jumping out but still same problem.
If you turn the shaft one motor puts up more resistance than the other and both clutches are definitely locked.

Any ideas? These are Dewalt motors and boxes but not the monster ones.

Also can any one advise on the above query?

                Cheers! Not long now!

                  Re: Bitza Mk2

Defiantly sounds like the clutch isn't locked up properly

If it were though I believe the motor would still spin.

                      Checked the speedo?

                        Re: Bitza Mk2

Directly connecting a power source, so no speedo.

First stage of the gearbox is probably mushed

No reason at all you can't join them up (apart from current handling which I am assuming you've got sorted)

@Jonny, The gearboxes seem fine, taken them apart a couple of times.

Current Handling? If you mean capabilities of the wire and relay itself they're rated well above what we'll likely draw.

Exactly what I meant, current handling, current carrying capacity, current rating................all the same stuff.
