        Re: CALEI -JAC

        thanks, I take it I won't need to do anything to it, other than wire it up to get it working? will it be be less bright on 18.5v than on 24V?

          Re: CALEI -JAC

          Yup, wire across the main power leads (in parallel with battery output, just after the link). Just slightly dimmer, should do the job

                    Billy hasn't signed in since early August. It's a shame, I wanted to see this lifter mechanism working! Anyone got contact details for him? Ask him to update us!

                        Oh great, I'm looking forward to it. I am interested to see how your lifter performs as I may do something similar.

                          hopefully it'll work great. I'll do a test run and get a video on.

                            update
                            =======

                            OK i've been away for a while and getting back to bot building. I've been looking at my bot and in short it's sh*te. I've have two much space in parts that I don't need and not enough in areas that I do....so I've ordered some new material and the bot will be similar in design but be smaller - new size will be 400mm long x 300mm wide height approx 150mm.

                            side view
                            =======

                              The base arrived today

                              300 x 400mm x 3mm aluminium plate:

                              I've ordered 2 of Gimosn Robotic motors for drive, and 100mm blue wheels.

                              I've also ordered a motor and lifter arm from a rover front car seat here:

                              This will be attached to my lifter and will be ran on 18.5v also (rather than 12v)

                                Re: CALEI -JAC

                                I was planning on using another Gimson motor with a car jack threaded rod however went with this option as suggest on another thread.
