ok bit of an update on whats goin off with me atm

very very luckerly i managed to get myself a cnc machinist job at an engineering company which i started yesterday, so basically im getting trained up to the point where i'll be able to do most things on em

surprised aswell by the interest in robot stuff the other workers have there, so not wanting to be too cheeky im going to wait untill the new year untill im gonna try stopping behind few days a week to get some parts done for myself.

first thing i wana make is a pivot for both pinsors claws out of 2 blocks of steel as i can only make it so good in my shed at home out of box section which just isn't strong enough. thats for now anyway, wana eventually make a new flipper to replace my over weight ali flipper using the cad software they have, but that'll be awhile yet.

Is that coz you chopped bits out and have now made it all wobbly? lol

its only made from 1 or 2mm stainless and its old, needs generally making stronger

took a working feather into work today, couldnt believe how interested people were, had workers filming me flip stuff around the workshop with their phones and everything lol long story short, managed to get 2 guys in on making parts for me. So ill hopefully get pinsors new cnc'd parts before christmas now so i can get it sorted whilst im off. compared to my last job where the hot topic of conversation each day was how wasted they got at the weekend and cheated on their gfs my new jobs sweet, stood about most of today with guys lookin at my robot and talkin about makin buggies!

Sounds like you're really enjoying it, which always makes it easier to drag yourself out of bed in the cold mornings! Should be able to make yourself some nice drum teeth too now.

I'll write up a list of CNC parts I need and get them sent off to you soon :wink:

whiped by my girlfriend and now also dave! my life gets better :P

but yeah im loving my job atm.

realy undecided what robot to start working on atm again. my overweight ali flippers all working nice so it'll do for now until i make a new chassis outta the bits when im a bit more skilled with cad and cnc as i obviously can't be getting guys at work to machine me a whole robot

pinsors getting new bits next week, i was thinking about taking a crusher i only started a while ago to the next uks there'd be a few robots it couldn't go through obviously but it'd crush anything with any gaps in its armour or any kind of plastic top armour of which thickness i won't say just fancy taking sommet different with me.

atm i've got a few half built robots and it's annoying that they are just sat about doing nothing this other crusher for 1, got a half build new drumbot still and another robot that wants rebuilding

Get the crusher finished and bring it to the UK champs. As you've said it's something different, and there is quite a lot of HDPE armour out there :wink:
Get the drum finished and bring it along too. If you can get someone to drive it then cool, if not just stick it in whiteboards.

Then worry about the rest
