  • My first combat featherweight

    Hi!

I've started to build my first real combat FW, I have an old platform i build but it didn't cut it.
I did learn a few things from it and I've been on the forums for several years so got a fair idea on how stuff works.

The specs on my robot in progress:

Chassie bulkhead style with 15mm HDPE 300 with 5mm bottom and top aswell.
2 standard 12v cordless drill motors for drive on 100mm wheels.
1 standard 12v cordless drill motor to power a lifting divice through a threaded rod.
A sabertooth 2x10RC for drive (might ugrade to 2x25 or elecronize if it's not sufficient)
12v 4600mAh NiMh home made battery pack.

    Some pics:

The battery acc and motors with wheels from an trashed shopping cart i found and home made hubs:

Glimpse of what it will look like:

Wheel protection will be made and the side view:

Neat homemade battery, what did you use to wrap it in?

          Cheers
I got some shrink wrap from a local shop which has tons of different stuff, they had several sizes so it was quite easy getting it the right size.
Had some trouble soldering the thing with my little 25w or so soldering iron :/
