  • Tron

I couldn't see a thread for Tron any more so I decided to start another.
Tron will be going to the UK champs, I am thinking of fitting an anti spinner barrier device on the front, any ideas? Or inside information on the opposition like how high is the cutting teeth on 360 or Little Spinner!

Not sure about the tooth heights, but I was going for the same thing with Quattro, probably made from welded box section to keep the spinners away from the main body of the machine.

      Re: Tron

My idea is to use either HDPE or conveyor belt as the barrier but I am not sure of the tooth height of the oppositions discs especially 360

I may have to cut something up on the day

        Re: Tron

Just to make things easier, vertical spinners will have a varying tooth height. Hopefully with my new one, the lowest it can get will be around 5mm off the ground

Although I don't know all the entries, the only verticals I can think of that will be competing are Drumroll 2 and....ahem....'Boner' (old Drumroll) so there's likely to be only a 1-in-20 (roughly) chance of encountering a vertical.

I made an angle iron (tornado) cage for 4 4 Toon for the champs last year and fought 360 with no damage It works well.

Regular Octagons? So overused. Make it an irregular Enneadecagon.

                            Re: Tron

Started fitting up Tron with the new idea. It is basically an electro-magnet with about 40KG attraction (400N) as Tron is A good pusher the idea is to make it a puller too. the magnet is attached to some rubber belt similar to that wrapped round Saint, the idea is it will adjust to the different angles of the armour of the opposition. I don't think anyone's tried this before so I thought I would give it a go.

I thought it was a spinning bar weapon for a second! I think I actually made a  face. A magnet would be cool, however, and as far as I'm aware unique as a weapon. This is legal as a weapon, though, isn't it? I get the impression it could cause major internal damage, especially with such a massive pull?

                              Or maybe that's the point.
