  • POOP A SCOOP upgrades

ressurected little spinner 3 and now renamed to poop a scoop, it can now run with the scoop and the spinner at the same time, I know everyone likes the scoop
Also upgraded to lipos and rebuilt the drive gearboxes. Weight 13.1kg.

Buzzbar aka poop a scoop aka little spinner.
The magmotor has got a bit tired now so have upgraded to a small brushless that was lying around. 1:1 gear ratio, spins up nice. only 4500 rpm, also now a heavier bar.

will be upgrading the drive as well for some reliability.

You call that a small brushless?!
Nice upgrade anyway, will be interesting to see how it hits with a different motor/heavier bar. What upgrades are being made to the drives? Your featherweights have always seemed to be reliable when it comes to the drives, part of what makes them such strong competitors in my opinion.

Just got new esc for the brushless 150A cont 1050A burst. Wired it in and tested without the bar on, works fine will test with the bar on tommorow. Also got new drive motors and gears so will be making gearboxes at the weekend. The old drives kept breaking gears and motors so trying something different.

            Upgrades are looking good guys.
Those teeth are looking alot more solid!
Out of curiosity do you expect to the brushless motor to be noticably more efficient?

1050A burst..... sounds like model amps to me.

              It one of these? ;

                Re: POOP A SCOOP upgrades

yes its a ezrun 150A, dont believe the rating but it is cheap. Tested spin up and max current is 130A and at 2000 rpm it pulls 20A cont ,4000 rpm 60A and after 3 mins motor and esc was barely warm. The mag pulled 40A at 2000 rpm and that had 3:1 ratio so the brushless is way more efficient. The new teeth are double hardened and tempered D2 so should be better than before and should stay on the bar.

                  Re: POOP A SCOOP upgrades

Thats a pretty efficient setup then. Was talking to mark before- reckons the reason we all keep blowing escs is due to the length of the wires between the lipo and the esc... Do you know if the length of the motor wires matter?

Also ive just ordered some lipos from flightpower- ill let you know how the order goes through so you can order urse after

will you need Cherub for Jonno's O2 event? If not them I will let Jonno know he can let that space go.

                      Re: POOP A SCOOP upgrades

The length of the motor wires dont matter as long as they are the same length or the esc wont detect the speed of the motor correctly. I had to shorten the wires from the lipo to esc on buzzbar so it should be ok but on ls4 they are a lot longer so ill have to add more caps on the wires.
Criag, Dont know yet, we are trying to get nipper working, will know for sure in the next few week

Have already ordrered 4 new lipos, i rung them first and they set up my account and when i log in all the prices have 40% off.

                        Re: POOP A SCOOP upgrades

Thats pri impressive, I hadn't realised that the 3 phase motors were so much more efficient than PM's.

Look forward to seeing it in action. With the teeth staying on, I think its always got a good chance of going far with great drive, stablity and reliability.

New gearboxes fitted and new 1 way clutch on motor and motor cover, dont worry theres no big magnets in there
Just needs wiring up now and weighing then i can start on little flipper and hitter and ls4 and then big nipper

                            That brushless is Hooooooooooge!

What motors are you using for drive?

I'm gradually familiarising myself with the Little range of robots, but I seen no trace of LS1?

                              Re: POOP A SCOOP upgrades

The motors are 12v speed 600 bb motors simalar to drill motors but a bit better quality
i cant find any pics for ls1 but it was a lot bigger than the current buzzbar(ls3) and it had two bars one on top and the other on the bottom and was powered by a 200w pancake motor and the armour and chassis was all 3mm ali.
