Thats a nicely made wedge, and your beetle looks great, 2 parts Little Flipper, 1 part Explosion. Do you do your own metal bending ?

                Re: Bodge Job's Build Diary

yeh, I bent most of it but I didnt bend one strip which is out of view (because it is coved up by the lid) and that strip was bent for me by the company that gave me the metal.

                    Re: Bodge Job's Build Diary

haha yeh you did help me with the pnumatics in the beetle... but sadly I wont be useing that set up, because it could only lift about 400 grams.... so im going to either upgrade it to full presure, or make some fancy system useing springs and elastics...

                        Re: Bodge Job's Build Diary

yeh, i want to make it full presure, but its really expensive, and for all the pnumatics it weighs over a kilo, so the only way i could make it work is by giveing the robot legs so it gets the weight allowence... so its a bit to complicated for my first beetle... lol

                          Re: Bodge Job's Build Diary

With a meaty enough spring you could easily chuck 1.3kg around, surely? Problem is resetting it... how did Diotor do theirs way back in the RW days?

                            Re: Bodge Job's Build Diary

Could copy the way the Battle Ratz do it, I have some photos on my photo bucket the way they do it, it uses a combination of a hook attached to the flipper arm and a motor to catch it.

Diotor used a hydrualic ram to pull it back down.
