Nah, I think the 450 Tamiya motors are just fine with my robot. W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G also used hobby motors too.

To be honest I'm sure they aren't, RC car type motors tend to come without gearing because they're normally only put into cars as replacements, with the gearing and transmission in the car chassis already...if you try to run a robot with electric motors that aren't geared, at best you'll crawl along with no power and at worst (and far more likely) you won't move at all...

I really would advise getting some motors that are already geared - preferably some proper 'robot' motors like drills or even wiper motors, I can understand you want to recreate WYSIWYG but as your plans stand it's not going to be a very good design.

I think they might just be the best to fit with all the other components. But I MIGHT some get other motors too, but they might be quite expensive :| .

Actually it is aimed for 80cm L, 50cm W, and 20cm H.

to be completely honest , those motors you have are not going to work at all , if you have very small wheels , a very light bot and the motors you get are high torque and low rpm , it might just pooter along , but its going to be no use in a battle. sorry

I agree with Tom on the motors being weak. If you want, try some Astroflights. They're sturdy motors for their weight.

may i suggest cordless drill motors, yeah everyone uses them , but they are good , they are a similar size to the motors you suggested , but about twice the length, may i also sugest blue wheels to go with your order of drill motors

Could I use MFA Como drills 919D 11:1 motors instead?

They'd be a bit towards the weak end of the power scale, but they'd get you moving which is more than the hobby motors would.

It looks like it used 550 size motors with chain or belt reduction.
