I have a Spektrum D6i that was given to me (for free!) but without a receiver. I have read DSM2 isn't great anymore but this is what I have. I am looking for a cheap DSM2 compatible receiver preferably from within the UK. I bought this one on hobbyking along with a bunch of other stuff but it broke instantly and before it broke it would not bind properly and I don't know why: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_w_CPPM.html. It seems a waste to buy a £4 receiver and then pay the same for P+P so is their an RC UK based retailer?

If you can find out when the dx6i was bought that would help a lot, the newer batches only work with dsmx receivers. -
That may be the case. Just realised it says DSMX on the front. So does that mean that it is only DSMX and not DSM2? Thanks for your reply.Comment

Theoretically DSMX is supposed to be backwards compatible with DSM2... but the 2 DSMX DX6i's we have only work with the new DSMX Spektrum Receivers. They don't work with Lemons or Oranges or even old DSM2 Spektrums.Originally posted by Fohristiwhirl View Post

Seems pretty restrictive! Lucky I read this before ordering a DSMX orange receiver. Looks like i'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a more expensive spektrum one. Which spektrum receivers are the "new" ones is the AR610 one of the new ones? Thanks for the help.Comment

DSMX receivers should be fine, jsut not DSM2 receivers.Comment

The AR610 is what I use in my FW spinner with my DX6. Its expensive but its worth it IMO and the extra length aerial means you should get great reception no matter where you are.Originally posted by Fohristiwhirl View PostComment
