Please can you put up pictures of your beetle removable links?

As above, wondered if anyone had found an easier way than soldering up a Deans Connector? The link I made for the feather is trashed after 2 years of service lol. Anyone use something like a fuse holder, with the fuse being the link etc?

I just use deans. Soldering them is simple as.

Newton's is just a deans too. Clamped to the side in the only space it fits:





There's just a hole in the top panel for inserting the plug.

On Lynx i used JST connectors, they come with wires already attached so you just cut them to size and solder them together, the non removable part was just held to the side wall by a couple of cable ties.


You can use fuse holders, i did in Hatchet but that was a feather so it might be a tad big for beetles. JST's are small and handled the current Lynx was pulling which was like 50a on startup.

Yep, on a beetle thats all you can do really. Anything else is a waste of weight. Some people have fancy covers on their feathers but most of the time it just sticks out the top or is tucked inside and pulled with a cable tie.

What are peoples views on removable link placement? I realise it should be easliy accessable, however would it be frowned upon to place the access point underneath the machine? I'm building an electric lifter, so it won't be dangerous to turn the machine over and isolate it.

That would be acceptable on a Beetle I guess. But becomes questionable on anything heavier.

As above, Beetles are a bit more lenient, for a feather it needs to be properly done.
